Mother's Day is coming up, and Power Up Tech Academy is offering a special workshop where you can bring your Mom (or Aunt or Grandma) and spend a fun afternoon learning about the world of wearable technology.
You will learn how to sew with conductive thread, add lights, and include a small battery so that your bracelet, backpack or anything else has some newfound sparkle!
The workshop will include materials to make a cuff-style bracelet with LED lights. You are also encouraged to bring your hat, backpack or other fabric item and apply some electronic bling to your own items!
Space is limited so be sure to reserve your seats early.
Note: This workshop uses hand sewing, so kids should be old enough to comfortably work with a needle and thread. Moms will be able to help with any tricky parts!
WHEN: Saturday, May 5 from 2-4pm
WHERE: Power Up Tech Academy (2867 N Clybourn Ave)
WHO: Moms & Kids ages 9+, all experience levels (space limited)
COST: $39 for first child, $32 for second child, Moms come free!
