Start your coding journey with the Code Your Own Video Games class. This class introduces you to the excitement and power of coding by teaching you to make real, working video games, just like the ones you love to play!

What You Will Learn and Do

You're gonna LOVE Coding! In this class, we make real video games. They really work and you can play them and share them with your friends! It is the perfect place to start your coding journey, and projects are taught step-by-step.

  • Start thinking like a coder! You will learn events, loops, if statements, variables, testing, debugging and more.
  • Show off your creativity and personality! Your characters, settings and storyline are custom-designed by YOU!
  • Get ready for greatness! Build a foundation of real coding skills that can take you to more advanced levels.

The games we make are inspired by popular games and classics like Crossy Road, Galaga, Agario and many others.

How Much Time Does it Take?

Learn to code with us in just one hour per week.

Just pick a consistent day and time for your coding lesson, with same classmates and instructor. We offer this class several times per week. (see below)

What Does it Cost?

Our pricing is simple and fair: Lessons are $30 per week, paid 2 months at a time.

We will prorate the fees if you join partway through a two month session.

What If You Miss a Class?

Fees are based on the number of scheduled lessons for your class, not on how many lessons you actually attend.

But, we want to make sure you don't miss out!

Just tell us in advance if you have to miss a class and we will find you another class to attend (same lesson not guaranteed).

Or, we can record your missed lesson and provide it to you to review at your convenience.

How the Class Works

It's online learning, and it's personalized, effective and fun!

  • You will learn from a live instructor online over Zoom.
  • There will be a maximum of 4 students, so you can get to know each other, speak up and get help when you need it.
  • Instruction is done by screen sharing.
  • You will follow along with the instructor and build your own project at home.

What Technology Do You Need?

Here's what you need to join a class:

  • A computer or laptop
  • High-speed internet
  • Microphone and speakers, or a headset
  • A web browser
  • A webcam (recommended, but not required)

Scratch is an online language and we will help you get set up with an account on your first day.

Scratch is free and available online for you to continue coding at home during and after the class.
