Learn one of the hottest coding languages on the planet!
From Data Science to Dropbox to Astronomy to Finance, Python is a language that can do so many things, and has risen to become wildly popular because of it. It is also one of the top languages used in first year college programming classes.
Get ready to think like a programmer! In our Python series, we make cool projects that teach core coding skills in a hands-on way. You will be using text-based coding, so bring your best typing skills and attention to detail -- but don't worry, you will get taught everything you need to know, step-by-step.
We teach Python Coding at every level from Beginner to Advanced.
Start with Level 1 and get the basics. After that, Level 2 uses the Tkinter library to make projects with a focus on data, ranging from encryption to classic board games. Level 3 uses the Pygame Zero library to develop skills around graphics, state and events by building video games. Our full range of courses in Python will give you fascinating and fun projects for a comprehensive curriculum of skill building.
Students who are new to Power Up, and entering at the Intermediate or Advanced level of Python coding, should contact us for a personalized assessment and placement.
Learn to code with us in just one hour per week.
Just pick a consistent day and time for your coding lesson, with same classmates and instructor. We offer this class several times per week. (see below)
Our pricing is simple and fair: Lessons are $30 per week, paid 2 months at a time.
We will prorate the fees if you join partway through a two month session.
Fees are based on the number of scheduled lessons for your class, not on how many lessons you actually attend.
But, we want to make sure you don't miss out!
Just tell us in advance if you have to miss a class and we will find you another class to attend (same lesson not guaranteed).
Or, we can record your missed lesson and provide it to you to review at your convenience.
It's online learning, and it's personalized, effective and fun!
Here's what you need to join a class:
Intermediate students may need to install free software to use certain libraries. Chromebooks are fine for beginner courses, but please contact us if you plan to use one at the higher levels.
All the tools we use are free and available online for you to continue coding at home during and after the class.
**NOTE** Prices are based on the actual number of lessons in the session.
They are pro-rated automatically for mid-session registrations.
